Consecutive Interpreting
The translator is in the same room with the people attending the meeting, hears them out and then interprets what they have said, using previously prepared notes. In this case, interpreting occurs in the same room and no individual cabins are required. The main advantage of this service is that the audience is able to intervene during active conversations and ask questions.

There are two types of consecutive interpretation – short interpretation and one that takes longer. When the interpretation only takes a short amount of time it is done by translating phrases (2-3 sentences at a time). This type of interpretation is the best option for business negotiations, short-term stay, etc.
Simultaneous Interpreting
The interpreter works in a closed cabin, and the audience can listen to the translation using headphones. The delay between the source language and the interpretation into the target language consists of only a few seconds. This service is usually used during international conferences that are attended by a large number of people or in multilingual meetings. This service is the most relevant to companies.

Simultaneous interpretation is usually performed by two translators. Only on rare occasions does one individual carry out an interpretation. Translators are placed in a closed-off cabin and can see the lecturer and the audience through glass. The lecturers speak into a microphone and the translators hear them through their headphones and simultaneously translate what they hear into their own microphones. All the audience has to do to listen to the translation in their chosen language is to put on their headphones and tune into the right channel. These are the key principles of the process of simultaneous interpretation.
Simultaneous interpretation calls for immense concentration, great memorization skills and the ability to react quickly. Due to this, the interpreters in the cabin take turns every 10 to 30 minutes.
